forming us that H.M.Beoretary of State thinks that we should

have no further dealings with the following firme in China:

In case, as it would appear, you are not fully seized

of all the facts and circumstances, we have pleasure in

supplementing the very full information we gave to Inspector

Billing when he called on us at your request.

With regard to the first two firms' establishments

at Hongkong, these are being slowly and laboriously liquidated

by English firms appointed by the Government of that Colony.

We have patiently endeavoured to get some satisfaction out of

the liquidators in regard to goods which they are properly

handling and as to goods of which they have improperly ob-

tained possession. As however these establishments are
